After returning home from an intelligence mission in Afghanistan, Christian discovered that he had developed Lou Gehrig’s disease. This devastating neuro-degenerative disease would change his life as well as the life of his family.

Candice was asked to help create a bedroom for Christian and Karin that can accommodate an elevator among other assistance devices while remaining a comfortable space that will become the new ‘heart of the home’. Keeping the flow of the room unobstructed was important for Christian’s wheel chair so Candice designed furniture and seating for the rest of the family that was small in scale and could be tucked away.
For furniture selections, Candice used an Otis chair upholstered in chocolaty brown velvet in the corner that can be easily brought closer to the bed for visitors. She also incorporated two Pablo cube ottomans in cream ultra suede that can be tucked under the console by the door when not in use. The result is a beautiful new master bedroom fit for a hero and his family. All of the furniture items are part of the Candice Olson Collection available exclusively in Omaha at ccino Furniture & Design.

Sylvia’s Living Room
Sylvia is a lawyer who exudes confidence and order. But when the front door to her home opens, you see the clutter created by her carefree two year old daughter Chloe all over the living room and not much else. Sylvia loves to entertain friends at home because being a single mom makes it difficult to go out but there’s nowhere for friends to sit and get comfortable. She needed an elegant, sophisticated space that was also kid‐friendly.
For this multi-tasking Living Room, Candice chose furnishings with elegant lines upholstered in durable fabrics. She started with the Tina Sofa in a Tiffany blue fabric to set the tone. Two Jean Chairs in chocolate brown patterned fabric face the sofa and also provide movable seating. In lieu of a coffee table, Candice introduced a Sasha Ottoman that has no sharp edges for Chloe to hurt herself on and upholstered it in aged leather that can handle some serious wear and tear.

Neil and Lolet’s Family Room
“Candice is asked to create a more manly retreat for Neil in a home that is dominated by women”
Bit by bit Neil has been getting the `pink’ out of the house he shares with wife Lolet, daughter Kristina, and his mother Brenda. At Neil’s house, even the dogs are
female and, as the lone male, Neil really wanted a space that had a more masculine feel that his family could still enjoy. Candice set the tone with soft neutrals that were pulled from nature.
Beiges and gold with hits of green established the color palette while natural textures added a masculine feel. Candice addressed the need for multiple seating in this small space by bringing in a Parker Sectional in fabric #2 312412 as well as Pablo ottomans. This provided ample seating for when Neil’s friends come over to watch “the game”. They are upholstered in fabrics that are durable and easy to clean.
Watch how Candice manages to create a room for Neil that is still comfortable for the whole family.

“Two golf fanatics ask Candice for a living room transformation”
As we’ve said many times, Candice is one of CCINO’s favorite designers. We think she has so much to teach our customers in Omaha, Council Bluffs, Lincoln and the surrounding areas that we urge everyone to watch her show. Of course, CCINO is also proud to exclusively offer the Candice Olson collection of furniture and fabrics!
Ten years ago Carroll and Paul bought their house because of its close proximity to their favorite golf and country club. When friends come to play a round, or just hang out, the living room is the biggest space to gather but it looked like a cross between a Victorian tearoom and a makeshift media center.

Candice transformed the space by selecting a variety of different seating that retained the formality of the room while providing elegant comfort for entertaining. By anchoring the space with the Barton Sofa in wine colored “Bella” fabric, Candice then introduced the Milton, Charlevoix, and Genevieve Chairs in a mix of richly patterned fabrics.
Candice scored a “hole-in-one” with this comfortable, yet elegant everyday
space where guests can put their feet up and enjoy watching golf.
