Here’s a way to make your room special — add the sweeping curve of the new Tousley sectional.  These curved lines add drama (or action and fun!) to your room.  Of course the fabric that you apply to any furniture style will set the mood.  That certainly goes for the Tousley where anything from serene sophistication to a sense of excitement is possible.

Here is the new Parsons style sofa and chair in a fashion forward combination of yellow and gray.  The extra pillows are perfect complements.  And the stunning grey leather Sasha ottman (designed by Candice Olson) is perfect.  Grey is rising color in all of the color trend reports.  And this shade of yellow is the color of the year selected by Pantone.

Do you think grey is a little out there for furniture in Des Moines and Iowa?  We don’t!  The yellow warms up the group incredibly well and the leather adds sophistication.  We think these colors will look terrific for years.

The Melanie is a great new sofa style.  It marries some fairly traditional styling cues with some very updated design ideas.  A deeply tufted back, English arms and turned wood legs nod to tradition.  The designers updated the look with a more contemporary two cushion seat, deeper and more comfortable depth and sleek, simple lines on the seat and base area.  This frame could work with many many looks.

One of the fun things about custom furniture is playing with fabrics and styles in unexpected combinations.  Marlene selected a neutral textural linen for the body of the sofa.  Then she chose a faux embroidery fabric for the main pillows and edged them with a gorgeous soft fringe.  The extra lumbar pillow is done in real raw silk!  The three different fabrics play on the neutral color theme using textures to stand out.  This Melanie succeeds in surprising and delighting.  We love it!
